![]() Chapter-Master Domition spents as much time tending to his duties as Governor as he does to those as Chapter-Master. The Auric Blades, staying true to their Ultramarine roots, take a very active part in the governing of their planet. To achieve that, both the Chapters Fortress-Monastery and the newly constructed Orbital Dockyards were deliberately oversized - to enable them to Service the much larger forces that were expected to come through in the future. Despite this passage opening and closing at seemingly random intervals, it was decided to station the Chapter there - both to intercept anyone trying to travel from the otherside, and to establish a stable foothold that could be used for future expeditions. Then, it was discovered that Domus had been blessed (or cursed, depending on the viewpoint) with one more extraordinary feature: An unstable passage through the Great Rift, allowing safe travel to Imperium Nihilus on the other side. But Domus was situated allmost directly at the Great Rift, ending that peacefull era.ĭespite being very close to the Warp-Anomaly, the System stayed loyal and had welcomed the Crusade-Fleets to the best of its abilitys. For most of its history, the System had been relatively unimportant and at peace. The System was first colonized in M36 by Settlers mainly from Ultramar, and had evolved to contain one Civilised World (Domus, Capital World, population of around 1 Billion), several mining outposts and a minor colony on the Moon of Domus. The Purpose of their founding was too defend the Domus-System. The 1st Company & Chapter-Command were instead drawn from Volunteers from several already established Chapters (mainly Ultramarines, Genesis-Chapter, Aurora-Chapter & the Iron Hounds). Symbol: White Blade in the black outline of a starīattlecry: " We are his Blade! We are their vengeance!" or sometimes when fighting Word Bearers " An Oath made! An Oath kept!"įounded as one of the very first new Chapters during the Indomitus-Crusade (3 years in, to be precise), Guilliman was aware that the Primaris-Marines were still lacking too much experience to function well completely on their own.īecause of that, only 9 Companies (2 - 10) were formed out of Primaris-Marines. This specialization in boarding actions broadens out to a more widespread expertise in zone mortalis combat. As a fleet based Chapter they are by necessity experts in naval engagements and boarding actions. The Chapter is split into three fleets, lead by great Chapter Barges, named The Saber, The Foil and The Epee. Initiates and suits are carefully matched, and new Battle Brothers take on the name of their armour. The second main belief is that each suit of power armour's Machine Spirit has a unique personality, influencing its style of fighting and preferred role in battle. ![]() They are unafraid to voice these beliefs: something that has bought them into conflict with both the Ecclesiarchy and certain factions of the Inquisition. They do not believe in any gods, including the Emperor, and strive to reclaim the lost knowledge of humanity. The first is a determined belief in the Imperial Truth, and the aims of the Emperor's Great Crusade, as they understand it. The Blades Aurus are characterized by two main beliefs. I wrote a short story about them and I have a huge post here with the lore I've written so far for them, and even then it doesn't cover everything.Ī fleet-based chapter founded in M34, the Blades Aurus are strict followers of the Imperial Truth and specialists in zone mortalis combat. ![]() My original design for them is here, and my first painted model, here. Since you asked, my homebrew Chapter, The Blades Aurus, are a fleet-based chapter founded in M34, who greatly revere their armour and are specialists in zone mortalis combat.
